The Fear of Him is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti on 1978 october 7 in Patna, India. This discourse is the seventh chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 3.^[1]

Synopsis

So when one is in deep love with Him, and death comes, that death is the final death. After death there will be no rebirth. Along with that death, death dies. So it is mrtyurmrtyuh – the death of death. So He is mrtyurmrtyuh. Each and every intelligent person of the world, everyone who has an iota of intelligence, should try to goad all his energies, all his propensities unto Him. He is the Supreme Shelter. There is no alternative.

Shrii Shrii Anandamurti

On this discourse, Anandamurti explains a vedic incantation. Ugraḿ viiraḿ Maháviśńuḿ means that He is beyond ascription, can face all difficulties and everything is known to Him. Jvalantaḿ vishvatomukham: He is the source of all energy and He sees everything, because all exists within the arena of His mind. Nrsiḿhaḿ bhiiśańaḿ bhadraḿ: Everything moves per His direction, while fear itself fears Him. Mryurmrtyuh namámyaham: Most people fear death, but death is afraid of Parama Purusa. People die and are reborn again, but those who take God as their shelter, will one day get liberated from this cycle and become immortal. Intelligent people should guide all their tendencies towards Him.^[1]
