Can Women Attain Salvation? is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti on 1978 october in Patna, India. This discourse is the first chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 3.[1]

Synopsis

Those vested interests, or those who had vested interests in the realm of religion, not spirituality, used to say that salvation is only for males. They perpetrated their exploitation over females for an indefinite period. This was the psychology. They were guided by this psychology. That is why they used to say that salvation and emancipation are for males only.

Shrii Shrii Anandamurti

Anandamurti starts the discourse by presenting Parvatii's questions to lord shiva: "What are the minimum qualifications for a Sadhaka and are there any other qualifications such as age, academic skills and so on?" Shiva's answer was that a Human body is the sole qualification for performing Sadhana. Anandamurti then explains that the Dharma of Human beings is different than animals or plants and that is to realize God within their minds. For that, Self surrender is required. Bhagavata Dharma had three essentialities: Expansion of mind, Cosmic flow and Service to all. Anandamurti goes on explaining that self realization is not a bonus given to the learned and qualified persons, but rather the birthright of all.[1]
