Superstitions about Death is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti on 1978 October 17 in Patna, India. This discourse is the fifteenth chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 3.[1]
Synopsis
“Taddhávato’nyánatyeti tiśt́hat tasminnápo mátarishvá dadháti.” Everybody obeys Him. Everybody will have to do according to His desires, according to His laws, according to the laws created by him for the welfare of the entire creation. And that is why air, water, light and so many entities are doing their prescribed duties, and will have to do their prescribed duties. There is no alternative.
Anandamurti starts the discourse by saying that the only way to surmount Maya is by surrendering to the Supreme Lord. those who believe in a Doomsday, are either not acquainted with the right philosophy or are thinking irrationally. Anandamurti then explains that Avidyamaya is the force that broadens the angle of radius between the Lord and the devotee while Vidyamaya shortens it, They are both useful in maintaining balance in the universe. Praise or punishment are for good reason. Anandamurti goes on explaining that the greatness of God cant be conceived by the unit being, even the most agile. Logic, philosophy or science will not be able to catch Him. Human Beings will have to obey His laws for the benefit and welfare of all.[1]
