Brahma Cakra is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti on 1964 December 9 in Salem, India. This discourse is the first chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 33.^[1]

Synopsis

Now in this cakra or in these cakras two forces are working: one is the eccentric force and the other is the concentric force. For this eccentric force, or centrifugal force, the Sanskrit term is Avidyámáyá or avidyá shakti; and the concentric force, or centripetal force, is called Vidyámáyá or vidyá shakti in Sanskrit. Both are Máyá. Both concentric and eccentric, vidyá and avidyá, are expressions of the same Máyá, the same Creative Principle. And that Nucleus is the lord of that Creative Principle, is the svámii of that Creative Principle.

Shrii Shrii Anandamurti

Anandamurti starts the discourse by saying that spiritual aspirants have to bear in mind that they are the offspring of the Supreme father and their only goal is to merge in the supreme, become one with Him. Anandamurti then explains that the three factors in the movement towards the Supreme are: Prańipáta (self surrender), pariprashna (questions pertaining to the spiritual goal and not for a mere intelectual debate), and sevá (offering service to all beings without taking anything in return). Anandamurti goes on saying that God showers His grace on everyone with no partiality. Common people do not feel drenched by Him because they hold an umbrella of vanity over their heads. By dint of one's sadhana (spiritual endeavor), one will be able to come closer to God and feel His immense grace.^[1]
